My Story

If you told me just one year ago that I would have three internships and a study abroad program under my belt even as a sophomore... I actually wouldn’t have been surprised. My whole life, I've been working hard to set myself up for success in college, and it has been paying off thus far. I earned a full ride scholarship to the University of Central Florida, automatic admission to its Burnett Honors College, and already have many professional experiences under my belt, but this is just the beginning for me.

As an information technology student who was formerly a computer science major, I have taken many advanced programming courses and have a strong knowledge of data structures and other fundamental software concepts. By applying my extensive computer science background, I aim for hands-on experience in a variety of technological areas, such as fintech, cybersecurity, software engineering, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. I have a deep interest in fintech because not only does it merge my two fields of study, but I also participated in a fellowship program with a quant firm in New York City, and getting a glimpse of this work appealed to me deeply there.

I also have experience in game design and development from my internship at NASA, cybersecurity policy from my internship at the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Diplomatic Security, and model-based systems engineering from my internship at Lockheed Martin, so it’s safe to say that I am interested in technology at large rather than just one sector of the field. Outside of technology, my passions include data science, linguistics and language learning, improving DEI in STEM and other fields, social justice, sports, and making music. I am also very passionate about mental health and volunteering, which I go into in detail throughout this website under the “Focus Points” pages.

Throughout my college career, I have sought opportunities that can provide me with a chance to expand my skillset and solve real-world problems, especially in an interdisciplinary context at the juncture of STEM and liberal arts disciplines. I am excited to see what the future holds for me and what skills I will gain in my next adventure!

A Huge Thank You

I am absolutely honored to be one of the recipients of the $200 U-LEAD Social Change Showcase Scholarship that I earned with my work on this portfolio. I deeply appreciate the LEAD Sch0lars Program for giving me the opportunity to present my work at this showcase, and I also sincerely thank the judges for ranking my portfolio so highly.
